"I think I'm ready now."
Hat Pick Night ended a few moments ago. Very pleasing, that. I was Rocky. I was originally given "Frank," but since I didn't want to play Frank on a Hat Pick, and Willow didn't want to play Rocky on a Hat Pick, we swapped. We were actually one of two swappings that night. Those that got leads were satisfied. Those that didn't, less so.
The Hat Pick Night Cast:
Frank -- Willow
Janet -- Gamsby
Brad -- Dani
Riff Raff -- Larry
Magenta -- Tara
Columbia -- Spark
Dr. Scott -- Sean
Rocky -- George
Eddie -- Christian
Criminologist -- Janice
Trixie -- Sarah
Transylvanians -- Sarah, Meghan, Angelo
Tech -- Michael, Genevieve, Danielle
Lights -- Ralph
Rocky was actually a lot of fun to perform. It helped that it was a completely non-serious show. I was working off of Willow, which hasn't happened in many weeks, since she was Columbia and I was Frank... And that's not really working off her. Willow seemed extremely thrilled to be playing Frank. I think she was simply glad not to get tech for yet another year.
I kinda cheated in my getting Frank, though. When I got it, we knew we could swap, but I was like fourth person called, so I had Frank's name in my hand. No one else could possible get it off the bat; we'd have to swap for it.
Working with Gamsby worked well, too; an entirely comfortable "Toucha."
I got lots of compliments and questions whether I'd be playing it more regularly (or again, at all), and my answer is fairly ambiguous. I don't know. Maybe. I really don't want to learn Rocky's choreography, but I may. I think I faked him fairly nicely, but he definitely does very specific muscle-movements that I have no idea how to do. I didn't look at the screen much at all, so if I was on time, I'm not really certain.
"Floorshow" was annoying. I'm fairly certain that I got most of it right, but I have no idea about timing... I barely watch Rocky's Floorshow when I'm Brad, and definitely don't see it when I'm Frank. I haven't watched the movie for the movie in a few months. So, there's just lots of nuances and big stuff for some characters I don't have any idea about.
So, while it was not the role I was gunning for, it all worked out very nicely in the end. I was hoping for Riff Raff, but Larry was unwilling to trade. All the same, I was very happy with the end result. Good night, and often good performances all around, from what I could see.
