"How about not equating death with stopping?"
Today, I have accomplished my two goals: I called my father to make plans for Easter Sunday (I'll be in South Jersey) and I cut the pineapple that was on top of the fridge.
Guess I'm done for the day!
Yesterday, it was Matt's sister, Maria's birthday. We went into New York and saw Mamma Mia! on Broadway. it was quite good. About three songs into it, I was wondering if it was going to be this haphazard of weak plot strung together with incongruous (yet appealing) ABBA songs. By the title track, everything finally was put into place, and I enjoyed the rest of it quite a lot.
Dee Hoty, the woman who played Donna (the mother) was very impressive; very earthy vocals, and she was funny. She was flanked by the "best friends," Tamara Bernier (the slut) and Harriet D. Foy (the black one). Yeah, they didn't have much character development, but all the same, they were hysterical. They even made "Dancing Queen" completely understandable for the plotline.
Less impressive were "the Dads," particularly the lead (John Hilner) who simply did not have a good voice. Sophie (the daughter/Jenny Felner - who, from her headshot, should stay a gothy brunette) was quite good, even if I felt absolutely no chemistry whatsoever with her fiance (hey, it was an understudy; maybe it was just a bad night).
Afterward, Maria bailed, and Matt, his mom, and I went to a Chinese buffet. Quite good; wish I'd eaten more, in hindsight. I'd like some right now.
I slept so long today... I was sleeping sometime after 3 AM, but I didn't actually step out of the warm, comforting sheets until after 5 PM.
I had some weird dreams that I don't remember a lot of. A few of them took place at the theatre, and I know Spark was in one of them. I just don't remember.
I wanted to work on my character sheet, but got distracted by Matt watching Pippin on tape. Decent show; deeply cynical -- incredibly horrendous ending.
That's all I can think of.
