"You see all my light, and you love my dark."
I didn't accomplish much of anything today... I watched VH1. And I downloaded music. Although I did earn that downloading, 'cause I'm doing this thing we're I'm ripping streaming audio, but I can't control what audio's going to be played, 'cause it's a radio station. But I can have the station automatically rip everything it plays and cuts the tracks into neat individual mp3s.
I thought, originally, that this was a novel idea. Still is. But this program (StreamRipper 32) doesn't rip the track where it ends and where it begins. It rips approximately where it begins and where it ends. Also, I have no idea what will be recorded til it comes on; luckily, it correctly names the files and everything for me.
But this new Alanis song... Well, it was in two parts. The first part was the last ten seconds of "Crazy in Love" by Beyonce, and then a radiospot; and then it goes into the track. The next file that was created was another radiospot, but the first seconds of that radiospot were the last fifteen seconds of the song I wanted.
So, this means:
- file one: the last 10 seconds of "Crazy in Love;" radiospot; most of "Everything."
- file two: the last fifteen seconds of "Everything;" radiospot.
So, I had to use Audacity to link the tracks together. Surprisingly difficult. It's so annoying to make sure both ends match ('cause there's a few seconds of dead air, but no track loss between tracks) and then having to perfectly edit it... Well, this is less than mp3 quality being shoved into mp3 quality, so is the effort even entirely worth it?
The answer is no.
In other news, I have entirely too many userpictures. I have 42. I've had the extended-userpictures deal for a while now. I'm only just getting 42. I'll be changing them pretty regularly. Need more of my actual face.
