Curious

"It's coming closer to 90 miles - then freedom comes."

In dreams --

Matt and I were on Broadway in New York, and we went into a theatre, and Daphne Rubin-Vega was stretching on the floor. In hindsight, it didn't look a great deal like Daphne, but it "was" her.

I was star-struck, so I didn't say a lot to her, and instead bantered with Carson Kressley from Queer Eye about how many veins in the human body had "the gay gene." I think we decided on ten; we drew a diagram and coloured in the genes with a red marker. Finally, I decided I had to tell Daphne that Adam Pascal was my English teacher. In the dream, it was apparently true.

So, I walked over to Daphne, who had switched sides of the room with me and was among friends, talking. I told her that Adam Pascal had been my English teacher, and how he had been really nice, and asked if she still talked to any of Rent or Rocky Horror former castmates. She said sometimes, and asked what was on the piece of paper that I had. I showed her. Part of it was the floor plan to the Millburn Education Center. She took it and started writing chemical equations to prove the theory of Carson and mine, about the veins and the gay genes.

I asked her to sign one of the playbills to Danielle, saying "Wish you were here, Daphne Rubin-Vega."

She lay down on the floor again and stretched her limbs out, as people came flooding out of the theatre doors. The show had ended.

Apparently Daphne wasn't in it, or something.
