Twisted

"Darkness must go down the river."

As tagged by Carrie.

So the rules are, once you've been tagged you have to write an entry with 6 weird things/habits about yourself. In the end you need to list 6 other people to tag and list their names.

1. A few in this one: I used to spell words like "Color" and "valor" like "Colour" and "valour" simply for the extra English U's. I would even do it on words that weren't even correct in British use. I got out of the habit quickly after working in a largely e-mail driven job. I also used to make my a's like the typewriter a with that hook on the top. I dropped that because of Matt, who whenever I wrote it, got it confused with the number 2. Which is silly, because he should've understood the context, but now I can't even do it without thinking about it. When I was younger, I struggled hard to be able to make an ampersand, and use to do "&" on everything. I now prefer spelling everything out for the most part, unless it's part of a name.

2. I hate being at my desk and not having music playing. It actually really bothers me when I'm on the computer and Matt has the TV on or something, or I have to not have it playing for some other reason, like Matt's dictating, or I'm on the phone.

3. I was once a huge defender of Tori Amos. Now, while I still love albums 1-5, I have some serious problems with her personality and that has affected some of her music for me. Previous victims of getting-to-know-them include Pink, Celine Dion and Shania Twain.

4. I seriously miss the Broadway Rocky Horror experience more than most things in the last decade.

5. I am super-obsessed with keeping my nails filed. I used to bite them, so now I'm all about the filing. For the better, perhaps, because the last time I let them get kinda long, a part of my pinky nail broke during the Show. It also makes me less concerned with them breaking, 'cause I have really brittle nails that I have to put strengthener on at least once a week to not make me freak out that they might shatter.

6. The more horrifying dreams that I have usually involve my teeth falling out, being hideously disfigured, or mysteriously absent.

Uh, tags? Genevieve, Danielle, Turi, Jamie, Richy.
Mostly I just want Richy to post _something_.

"Random Music Association Meme"

Put your mp3's on random, and for the next 20 songs, post the name of the song (and artist) and what event or person that song reminds you of.

1. "Heavy Scene" by Meg Lee Chin
Spark. Only because he's the person who gave me the song on a mix. I like it, and put it on a thematic RP CD mix for Genevieve, as a song Derek would've liked. It's pretty abstract conceptually and lyrically, and I don't listen to it a lot, but I like it. And it generally reminds me of Spark.

2. "Can't Get Enough of You Baby" by Smash Mouth
The movie Can't Hardly Wait. I don't have any other association with this song, and haven't listened to it in years.

3. "Seasons of Love" from the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Rent
The first thing that came to mind was going to see the play with Linz, Danielle, and Kristen as a graduation present to ourselves. We went into New York City, hoping for rush tickets and not knowing about the lottery. We decided to just spend the extra money for balcony seats that night. It was a good show, but hard on my legs, 'cause the seats were so close the row in front of them.

4. "You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi
I think of Amy because I remember her listening to this song in Connecticut, when I lived with her. And it being the most metal/hard electric sound I'd ever heard at that point. Which is funny on it's own. That and I would get it confused with "Bad Medicine," which is by another band that I've forgotten the name of.Read more... )

Curiously not a Tori or Dresden Song among them.
