Last night's show was good and bad. It was probably a fine show for everyone else, but I had a pretty awful time as Brad. Working with Danielle helped me get through it, but I was not feeling it in the slightest. I felt completely unprepared, and a mess... I hadn't performed it straight in such a long time, I just didn't have everything with me, and while I had my choreography burned into my brain, I just don't feel I was doing very well. I know I did kickline very well and I know I pretty much nailed "Damnit Janet" because I barely even going through the motions for the rest of it. No more Brad for a long while, if I can help it.

The highlight of the night was the preshow, where was just me (and 2 lines from Genevieve). Spoke word preshows can be instant death, but this one went over well. I had a horrible time getting my nerve up (improvisation I can fake, but scripted lines I am convinced that I will fuck up... I did the same thing when it came to MSU-Mike's movie). But! It worked out, and the audience laughed. And apparently it wasn't obvious that I kept staring at my clipboard with the script on it. So it worked! Yay!

Right now, I'm home alone because Matt is in Ohio. He will be back tomorrow. He was in a car accident on Thursday. He is fine, but apparently the front of his car is a total mess. It's being worked on, and he's getting a rental car. We will be using that to go away for my birthday. Matt, Jamie, and I are going to Montreal the day before my birthday and staying the weekend.

i couldnt tell that you were reading your lines at all, and i was sitting pretty close to the stage for the preshow. yay george!

Well, I wasn't reading the whole thing off, but I was terrified that I would say something like "So instead of that apartment, we replace it with... snakes!" and fuck up the next part...

and about the jacket, the lady at the store hid it for me. haha. so if all turns out well, it will most likely be there for me to get:-)

not to sound like a jerk (cuz i am) but i was honestly really surprised at how good you were in the preshow. not that i was expecting you to suck or anything, but you're right, spoken word preshows can be death, and i never recalled seeing you do one. it was a very pleasant surprise, and i would say rather awesome.

also, danielle said the same thing about playing janet, did you guys have fun the last time you swapped roles? as in, you as janet, she as brad. because that was certainly entertaining, and might be a good way to revive your love (or at least tolerance) of the role.

Janet was fun, indeed, and something to consider the next time I'm working with a Brad... and that also opens up working with Sarah or Dani, too, or anyone who knows Brad enough.

Distinctly possible to happen in the future, but I know to use that only sparingly, 'cause that can ruin the novelty. But damnit, I could've had "Toucha" with Richy...

I was going to tell you after the preshow but I wanted to see Trixie. And then I was going to tell you during floorshow after we remarked that Sean actually looked less gay as schoolgirl Frank but then he sashayed and we couldn't stop laughing. And then I was going to tell you after the show but then I didn't see you and somewhat momentarily forgot- BUT now I'll tell you... THE PRESHOW WAS AWESOME. SO FUNNY AND THE DELIVERY WAS SO PERFECT.

Aha I finally got to tell you.
